Life, the Loonyverse and Everything

Thoughts about life in the UK, the state of the world, governmental and commercial intrusion into our lives and anything else that takes my fancy. All from the point of view of a UK guy in his fifties trying to make ends meet in a world where business determines your quality of life.

More on the Wunch

Finally got a part settlement on the second claim - still not the full amount, as they are defending the need to pay court interest, even though they have paid this on hundreds of other claims. Next stage is court for the outstanding £600. If they really didn't want to pay this interest they should have settled before it went to the court stage. They would have saved on the court fees as well!

Raised a new claim for nearly £600 on the original account for charges applied since the first claim was issued via the courts. I'll probably have to go through the whole drawn out process again. I did ask for them to repay the new charges when I spoke to them about the original settlement but they refused, even though it will cost them more in the long run. What a Wunch of Bankers they are!

This week I'll start new claims to recover unlawful charges on the credit cards we hold with the same bank. Once they are done then it will be time to check all the other finance we've had over the last six years to see how many of these are affected by unlawful penalty charges. It's a never-ending story....
